D lit up when Jessica was caring for him - she truly enhanced his life right until the end.
Jessica was simply an angel to my father D, during his time at MountainView. I could tell immediately that her service as a nurse went well beyond her job duties. She truly cared for her patients and both D and I knew that. D spent most of the last few weeks of his life at MountainView. He was a cowboy at heart as well as quite a character. Well, Jessica knew horses also, so the two of them hit it off immediately. D lit up when Jessica was caring for him - she truly enhanced his life right until the end. It's unbelievable the benefit of a smile - that glow - especially to a proud cowboy in life's final rodeo. I remember coming to the hospital around 7 am on his final days. Jessica had worked the night shift, so she would patiently and thoroughly update me on how he was doing, answering all my questions in a language I could understand. But the best part was waiting in D's room - a chair that had been drawn near his bed. The chair that Jessica had sat in at times during the night to talk to D, hold his hand, and comfort him well past when he was coherent. What an incredible gift - the gift of love - that Jessica gave to D, me, and our entire family. Truly amazing that she was so kind and giving to her patient. Thank you, Jessica!
