Jessica floated to Telemetry for the day and was assigned to a patient who had recently undergone brain surgery. The patient frequently refused different aspects of medical care and was not fully participating in his recovery.
Although Jessica was not certain, she felt that something was wrong. The patient was difficult to assess but Jessica called the surgeon to discuss her concerns. After further testing, it was quickly determined that the patient had to go for emergency surgery. I have no doubt that she helped to save this patient's life. Jessica continually provides exemplary patient care, and I am very proud to have her as a co-worker.
