We highly recommend Jessica for this award for the extraordinary care she gave our daughter when she was here for surgery. We met Jessica on our first night in the hospital soon after our daughter's surgery. We as parents were scared, terribly concerned, and struggled with how we should best care for our daughter as were navigating uncharted waters. But Jessica’s calm, confident, and extremely empathetic presence made all the difference in the world. She listened to our concerns without judgment and worked with us to control our daughter’s pain. We really felt that she cared for her as if she were her own daughter.

Here are some of the specific examples of Jessica's compassionate and exceptional care:
• She set timers for when to come back to the room after an infusion was done so that the alarm would not wake up our daughter.
• She went to the pharmacy herself to get meds/IVF when it took a long time to get them.
• She communicated with us clearly regarding her pain plan as well as any changes in plans.
•She thought of our daughter even after work and tried to find her the pink jello she was asking for. Also got her Frozen tattoos.
•She was extremely considerate about how tired we were as parents as well and minimized distractions.
•She was so gentle with our daughter in giving her meds and doing vitals during her sleep.

We were very sad to hear that Wednesday was Jessica's last shift of the week but so glad when she came back on Thursday, taking an extra shift. We felt extremely comfortable with Jessica and our daughter did as well. She went above and beyond and her care for us as parents and for our daughter made our hospital stay much more pleasant. She took care of our whole family and we are extremely grateful.
