I have spent a lot of time in the hospital this last part of summer, and believe me, it was no vacation. But somehow, in little ways every day Jess made my room and my day light up. She made a really difficult time a little bit easier. The daisy looks like a simple flower, but it is actually a composite of several different parts joining to form the flower. Jess is a lot like a daisy. On the outside she looks like any other nurse in scrubs. But, when you get to know her you see she is composed of kindness, caring, compassion, humor, positivism and empathy. The name 'daisy' originates from the Anglo Saxon word meaning day's eye. The name is appropriate since the flower opens in the morning. This award is so fitting for Jess because she would be there when I would wake up many mornings. With Jess, I got to start my day like a daisy with a DAISY!

Thank you, Jessica, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
