This nurse practitioner, while covering the in-basket of one of her coworkers who was off for the day, found out that a diabetic pregnant patient was having very unstable sugars. She called the patient to triage and figured out that the patient did not have enough sensors to check her sugars for the weekend and did not want the patient to take any risks. At the end of the day, she took the initiative to drive from Skyline to ACP and take extra sensors for the patient to ensure she was going to be safe for the weekend. She could have had this patient go to Urgent Care or the hospital, but her compassion and love for patient care made her decide to drive to another clinic to support the patient on a Friday night, which was the best option for this patient. The patient and the team were so grateful and amazed by her actions.
