March 2023 Honoree
Jessica L Williams 2023, RN
My husband suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm at the young age of 27. He went through extensive life-saving surgery to secure the aneurysm. We were placed on the Neuro ICU floor. Jessica was one of his day nurses and quickly became so special to us and our family. She was so patient, kind, and caring. It was evident that she loved her job and she was good at it. Whether that was cracking a joke to make us laugh to ease some emotions or to help ensure we understood everything that the doctors were saying/doing.
Through all the uncertainty during the 2 weeks that my husband was in the Neuro team’s care, whether Jessica was our nurse or not, she made it a point to stop by his room and say hello, give him a thumbs up, and words of encouragement. She brought so much comfort to our time in the hospital and always assured us we were getting the best care from all the staff in this unit. We are so grateful we had Jessica; she was a ray of sunshine in such a scary time in our lives.
