Jessica had been the primary nurse (7p-7a) for a patient experiencing a 15-week loss. The patient had not yet delivered at the end of Jessica's shift. Due to family conflicts, the patient was all alone. Jessica punched out at 0730 but told her "I will stay with you". Jess stayed, on her own time, until 1300 - thru the delivery and aftercare - to provide emotional and moral support to her patient who was by herself at this difficult time. Her caring attitude and action went above and beyond and displayed the ICARE value to the utmost.
