I could see that her desire to see that my wife was getting the best care that she could, was genuine.
During the nine months that my wife fought ovarian cancer, she and I made numerous trips to Sherman Hospital and Lutheran General Hospital. She was treated by many nurses along the way. And many of these nurses seemed to be very competent and compassionate. However, it wasn't until we arrived at Sherman that we met Jessica.
That Monday was the worst day of our lives. Early on that day, I was informed that the end was near for my wife. If not for Jessica and her dedication to making my wife as comfortable as she could be, our situation would have been much worse. Jessica had other patients, for sure, but she made it a point to come in and check on my wife whenever she had some free time. I could see that her desire to see that my wife was getting the best care that she could, was genuine. Jessica made it a point to talk to her and ask her what was causing her pain and discomfort --- and then try to remedy the causes.
There is no nurse in the world that I would have wanted, to treat my wife, other than Jessica. Her dedication and compassion to my wife made our situation much easier to deal with. In fact, Jessica was at my wife's bedside when she took her last breath. I can't thank Jessica enough for her expertise and dedication to my wife. I'm very sure that others have seen this too and I think Jessica is a true DAISY Nurse.
