Recently, the L&D unit has taken additional steps to assess what needs families have to provide the best care for their new baby. While in the care of Jessica Libby, a mother did not have a safe sleep space for her newest baby. Jess offered the Mom a hospital-provided pack-and-play; however, the Mom stated there was no space in their apartment for this. Knowing that a bassinet would fit better in their home, Jess reached out and found a bassinet that she purchased and donated to this family. Not only did Jess go out of her way to help this family, but she also ensured a safer discharge plan and future for this sweet little baby. I know she will not like this recognition, but her huge heart deserves to be celebrated.
