Jessica Louise Cook, RN
Jessica is a fantastic RN. She maintains a great rapport with staff and quickly develops strong relationships with her patients. She is quick to help in challenging situations, and she communicates clearly and effectively.
I have seen her show excellent care and compassion on numerous occasions – most recently it involved a comfort care patient. Jessica spent the shift advocating for the right medications for her patient in an effort to promote rest and comfort. When the patient’s husband arrived, Jessica took time to update him, and offer support. He visited for several hours, and as he went to leave, he stopped by the nurses’ station to let Jessica know he was departing. She spoke to him kindly, and then said, “Can I give you a hug before you go?” He welcomed her offer, and I’m sure that gesture meant a lot to him. Jessica models compassion that goes above and beyond typical expectations.
