Jessica Greer consistently shows her compassion for others in her actions. This week I watched her greet a visitor recognizing the visitor was elderly and unsteady with her cane; she got a wheelchair and assisted the visitor downstairs to the exit. Upon returning to the unit, Jessica had wet hair. I asked her what happened and she simply said, “It is raining”. I asked her where she was that she had been rained on. She explained that she was concerned for the visitor in getting to her car from the door and took her all the way to her car ensuring she was safely inside. She put this visitor’s needs first. The following day, the visitor came to me and explained that she knew her husband was in wonderful hands and that our nurses were the most caring she had ever seen.
