Our father was recently brought into your Emergency Department with severe shortness of breath, requiring a lot of help to stabilize him until our family was able to arrive. With discussion with the doctor, family, and dad's prognosis, we made the hard decision to place him in hospice. Dad's nurse during our hardest time of life was nothing but caring and compassionate, ensuring Dad was comfortable. We were given a cart with food and drinks, and a pastor checked in with us during that time as well. Jessica joined us in a prayer and checked in with our family if anything was needed, and took time to hear a few stories of Dad for us to learn that she grew up not just in the same country as Dad, but lived very close to Dad's hometown in Germany. We, as a family, wanted to give our sincere appreciation for Jessica's compassion during one of our hardest days.
