I recently had surgery on my brain for non-essential tremors. The surgery required me to sit for 3 hours without any anesthesia, so the surgeon could be certain he was targeting the correct area of my brain. The procedure was a very intense experience for me, especially being 80 years old. Throughout the entire 3 hours of surgery, Jessica sat right by my side, held my hand, and reassured me while the Doctor was working on my brain. I know without a doubt that if she wasn't there for me that day, I could not have made it through the surgery. Her kindness, compassion, and concern for me were far beyond the expectations of any nurse. She truly was an angel to me that day and I am forever grateful for her. She is a true example of what an Extraordinary Nurse is and Mercy is fortunate to have such an outstanding employee.
