Jessica M. Severt, RN, BSN

While Jessica provides outstanding care for her patients every day and is well respected by her peers for her work ethic and knowledge of clinical research in oncology, her nomination story reflected on one particular patient who was nearing the end of her treatment study. Jessica, armed with expertise in the particular study, side effects, and possible complications, kept in very close contact with this patient, even taking her calls after hours to listen and help alleviate her fears. She was a constant source of support, even identifying a possible study-related complication (which would have been easy to explain otherwise) just by taking the time to listen to the patient and her concerns. Jessica pursued the appropriate care so that the patient’s situation was addressed and her outcome was positively impacted.
