Jessica M Thompson, RN

Jessica Thompson works as a charge nurse on the MOC floor. She is an exceptional leader and provides her team and patients with compassion, support, and advocacy. Recently, she went above and beyond for a patient to coordinate the transfer of a series of prescriptions for a patient who showed up in person at the desk after being discharged the day prior and having difficulties getting his new discharged medications.

After briefing Jessica of the situation with concerns for the situation escalating as the patient was clearly frustrated and overwhelmed, she immediately jumped into action calling the pharmacy to get to the root of the problem, a supply issue, and helping coordinate the transfer of all the patients discharge prescriptions to a new pharmacy that had the medication in stock and would accept the cost reducing coupon that the patient had.

Not only was she able to provide the patient with access to the medication he needed, but she also ensured that obtaining it was easy for him to pick up from just one pharmacy. This is just one of many examples that show why Jessica is not only an exceptional nurse but an exceptional leader as well.
