We had a very challenging and upset man as a patient, struggling to understand what was happening and super agitated. One night, late with most unit lights dim and the unit quiet, the patient talked to himself and sometimes hummed. Jessica Mioduszewski recognized something he was half humming, half singing, and went into the room. Joining him- they sang together. His entire demeanor changed; he became more calm and compliant. It was only a portion of a song, but it made a difference! I felt so privileged as a co-worker to see and feel such a caring moment, caught completely off guard amongst illness and pain. Thank you, Jess. My faith in humanity is restored.
