Jessica is always putting patient safety first and relays all important medical information directly to the Medical Director.
Jessica came to our center from the hospital setting. Her job is the lead PreOP calling nurse doing assessments and formulating the schedules for the following days. Besides this role, she will come in early and assist the holding unit on busy days before starting her own job. Jessica also assisted in completing a Performance Improvement study regarding “On time starts.” We recently passed our AAAHC survey with flying colors and she helped to assist both the OR and Preop/PACU managers by doing some excel spreadsheets and word documents. Her computer savvy helped us tremendously. Jessica has also been instrumental in raising our physician satisfaction scores because of her constant communication and positive relationship with their office staff. The physician offices love working with her. She is always putting patient safety first and relays all important medical information directly to the Medical Director. Therefore; fewer cancellations on days of surgery. Just recently our OR scheduler has been out on medical leave with no one else to schedule cases. But Jessica rose to the occasion and is taking this job over temporarily in addition to doing her main job. Sometimes it’s the nurses behind the scenes who are forgotten about.
