If a nurse who had a major role in saving my dad's life doesn't qualify for the DAISY Award, I don't know who does. After my dad's emergency surgery, she was his nurse the next morning. You could just tell she had a lot of experience and knowledge. She felt something wasn’t right and she requested a scan be ordered. It turned out he needed another surgery. This would have been a tough ordeal for anyone to go through but even more so for an 83-year-old man. Our family couldn't be more grateful to the staff who worked on our dad and saved his life, but especially this nurse for trusting her gut. His outcome could have been much different, and I hate to think about it! He's doing great now, and it’s amazing. She was a godsend. Thank you so much.
