During our time at SGMC Health for the delivery of our firstborn child, Jessica Tutt was one of our Registered Nurses. Immediately after introducing herself to us, we both knew we liked her. She displayed a caring personality and a willingness to help with whatever we needed, all in a professional, yet friendly manner.

In one specific situation during her shift, she showed her true colors. On the second day of our daughter's life, she needed additional tests completed in the nursery including a heart test, hearing test, BGL check, and bloodwork. Jessica informed us she would be the nurse completing these tests. She started by giving us the power to determine when we wanted our daughter to go into the nursery. In a situation for first-time parents, this was very special to us. Feeling lost in a lot of the aspects of bringing a child into the world, that little bit of control was big.

Once we decided to send our daughter to the nursery, Jessica was in our room within minutes. She also brought a wheelchair for my wife if walking to the nursery was too much.

Watching Jessica work with our daughter was great. From the start, she assured my wife and I were able to clearly see our daughter and verbally updated us throughout the tests. Every action was methodical and well thought out. There was no hesitation or uncertainty in anything she was doing. Following every test, she updated us with the results through the window. This specific instance made my wife and I so grateful for Jessica to be part of our little girl's journey into this world.

When you see people who take such pride in their work, it's an inspiring event to witness. In addition, she treated our baby with such care and compassion. I could not have imagined anyone doing a better job than Jessica.
