I was very anxious when I realized I had to be admitted to the hospital. I was supposed to be leaving for a long-awaited beach trip. Upon arriving, I met Jess. Instantly, she began to put me at ease and calm my fears. She was very compassionate and upbeat and just a real pleasant person. Pretty quickly I began to trust her as she answered my many questions. She was quick to tell me what she could to calm me. I see her as an empathetic nurse who really loves her job and cares about her patients. She talked to me about the trip I was missing and listened to me talk about my family that went to the beach. She made a real connection to me. She went on to tell me that her unit works together as a team. And as my stay turned into a few days, I began to see that it was true. This is a special group of professionals who "care" for their patients and each other. Jess is a special gem on your unit. Oh and I forgot, one more thing, she hums a little tune as she works and I loved it. She's happy at her job!
