Jessica is a highly skilled professional who went out of her way to be sure that my husband had all his needs addressed.
My husband underwent gastrointestinal surgery in October. His surgery lasted at least 3 ½ hours. As you can imagine, this was a very tense time for me. Once he was brought to the recovery room, I received a call from a nurse who introduced herself as Jessica. She wanted to be sure that I knew my husband was in recovery and doing well. About 30 minutes later, Nurse Jessica came into the waiting room and sat beside me to give a full update on my husband’s progress. She told me that his room was being cleaned and that I could join him at that time. Unfortunately, many rooms were on the list to be cleaned as hours went by. Jessica approached me once again. She said the recovery area was empty except for my husband and he was asking to see me. She escorted me in with the plan of staying just a few minutes so that we could lay eyes on each other. Well, that few minutes turned into more than an hour. I had the good pleasure of seeing Jessica in action. My husband and I are from New York and have from time to time, required surgery from the better-known hospitals in Manhattan. I have learned years ago that your hospital experience, good or bad is determined by the nurse responsible for your care. I have never written a note to express superlative treatment. Jessica is a highly skilled professional who went out of her way to be sure that my husband had all his needs addressed. Her demeanor was so soothing, caring, and incredibly kind. I felt that Jessica was a rare gem who deserved recognition. Jessica is the exception. Although busy, her kindness and professionalism, made a trying day so much better.
