There was a school shooting in St. Louis. We were told to prepare for the arrival of mass causalities. Our regular charge was off along with both of our Assistant Nurse Managers. Jessie had agreed to work as a charge nurse. Without hesitation, she informed the correct people. Got all her leaders together and informed all the working rooms to hold on to their next patients. She quickly set up the open rooms as trauma rooms and was prepared to accept patients in less than 15 minutes. It was impressive to see her professional take-charge attitude that prepared our staff while keeping them calm.
