As of this date I have been here 25 days. All the staff are amazing, I hold a heartful of gratitude for Jess. Jess is a very exceptional, highly skilled, knowledgeable, compassionate, detailed nurse and was my advocate several times during my stay. If I did not understand something she would explain it to me. She kept me well informed all the time. I was more than just a face in the bed. Physically she would encourage me to move and do my breathing exercises. Mentally she would just listen and let me cry and comfort me during those difficult days and would celebrate the wins with me. Personally, she knew firsthand of what I was going through, and we connected on so many personal conversations. I truly believe all of this contributed to my success of beating this battle. Some of the examples I feel Jess went above and beyond was my dietary needs, she more than once had to call the kitchen and get on them about what was being sent to me as some days you did not see a dietician. The day I was told I was high risk, Jess just sat and held my hand and let me cry it out, comforting me. The day I had a 4-hour bloody nose, Jess calmed me down, kept me comfortable leaning forward while putting pressure on my nose to stop the bleed. She felt my pain and hurt. She deserves this DAISY Award as she has meant so much to me during my stay.
