Jessica Sempek, RN

Recently Jessie took care of a patient who was going through a very traumatic experience on top of being hospitalized. As the events of the situation unfolded Jessie fiercely advocated for her patient’s needs and safety all while exhibiting the utmost professionalism and compassion. In the end, the patient had to be transferred off of our unit. Before the patient was moved Jessie “pinky promised” her that she would come and check on her. At end of shift, she bought the patient her favorite drink and went to visit her to offer comfort and most importantly just to listen. Even after a stressful shift Jessie still went above and beyond to show compassion to someone who desperately needed it. The world could use more nurses and more people with big hearts like her.
