You normalized what we went through, and you helped us not feel alone. You helped us advocate for ourselves and our daughter regarding medical choices by educating us on our rights.
We had our first appointment at your clinic when our daughter was only 11 days old. We would have chosen to see you sooner but y’all are so popular that there was a wait at the time. In those 11 days, we had been filled with fear due to our pediatrician's scare tactics, trying to get us to use formula instead, and also dealing with a baby who was having colic-like symptoms, but no further investigation was happening.
By 11 days, we were exhausted and burnt out, and postpartum depression had begun sinking in for me. Becoming a first-time parent is already scary, filled with anxiety, and a steep learning curve. We had a baby who screamed for hours, only stopping when she was eating or sleeping. She just seemed so miserable and in pain, and we could not figure out how to help her. But it was from your clinic that we got the most guidance to help us.
You helped us discover she had a lip tie and gave resources on where to have it corrected. You helped us get on a good feeding schedule to help her gain weight.
You helped us with the first-time parent questions we had about literally EVERYTHING.
You supported me and made me feel heard as I was going through PPD and helped squash those intrusive thoughts of "what a bad mom I am.”
You normalized what we went through, and you helped us not feel alone. You helped us advocate for ourselves and our daughter regarding medical choices by educating us on our rights. You also created a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for moms to get together and build relationships (because motherhood can be so isolating at times).
And most importantly, you were our daughter's first secure bond with anyone outside of just me and her dad.
Because of your clinic we now have this happy baby girl who smiles, laughs, and plays. We learned what works for her, changed her (my) diet, just completed our sessions with a chiropractor, and are going to an amazing pediatrician who listens to us.
I took all the classes, studied, and read books on labor and childbirth, but I was not prepared for the support I would need afterward and how difficult it can be to find. So, thank you for being a part of that "village" that I did not have prior but that has grown over these last six months. Words cannot express the gratitude our whole family has for you, so here's some sweet treat to help show it.
