I am a 71 woman that had a very traumatic experience of my heart stopping for over 14 seconds, which was verified by an Implanted loop recorder. I was hospitalized to get a pacemaker and be released in a couple days, but I had the perfect storm. I had an abscess tooth start the day before my syncope episode. With the infection it made my pacemaker which I so desperately needed an impossible event, by the local cardiologist. This sent me in a depressed state of what do we do, the cardiologist found a solution by sending me to get a different type of pacemaker. Jessica helped me every day go through this roller coaster of emotions, making sure I was updated on what was happening every day. All the nurses were great, but I always looked forward to Jessica showing up every day because I felt like she knew what emotions I was going through and successfully kept me calm and informed what was happening. I felt like I could trust her to be honest with me on my progress. I never got to say goodbye and thank you to her as they took me out to fly to a hospital in Loveland, Colorado. I am not a very good patient, but Jessica did her best to keep me calm and comfortable. So, I would love to see her recognized for the great nurse that she is and recognized for all the compassion she gave me.
