Jessica was nominated by a patient from the medical surgical unit in which she was caring for her. She is a new nurse who is currently working in the intensive care unit. As a new grad you can imagine the anxiety of leaving your home unit and floating to another department where you have more patients than you normally would care for.
The patient stated she felt very comfortable and relaxed with Jessica as her nurse and was impressed that nurses fill in to other areas of the hospital. Jessica's own emotions were contained and as usual she put her patient first. The patient felt Jessica was very informative about the detail of her condition and explained things in a way she could understand. She stated that Jessica had answered her questions and provided her with information she might not have otherwise received.
The time that Jessica spent with this patient validates the saying "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel".
