Jessica is an Extraordinary Nurse because she’s always available to help her fellow staff members with whatever they need. Her vast knowledge makes her one of our “go-to” nurses if we have any questions and if she doesn’t know the answer she’ll help you brainstorm. Jessica also has an amazing sense of humor. If you’re having a rough day she always knows how to make you laugh. We all love working with Jessica because we know no matter how the day is going, she’ll make it a little more bearable. She’s as caring and compassionate to her co-workers as she is with her patients. I recently witnessed a touching moment when Jessica supported her patient who was very anxious by pulling a chair beside her bed and holding her hand and staying with her until she calmed down. The patient was so grateful. Everyone needs a Jessica on their unit. I’m honored to nominate her for a DAISY Award.

The afternoon my father was brought to 5 East obs, Jessica was immediately attentive and caring towards my father. I asked if I would have a few minutes of her time when she was free & within actual “minutes” Jessica was in my dad's room talking with me and answering all my questions. It was the first time in my visits I was at ease leaving my father.
