Jessica Wood is one of the most charismatic people in our unit. Her dedication is not just towards her patients, but also the staff.
Jessica dedicates her entire shift to be empathetic towards all patients and family members, to make them feel comfortable and thoroughly cared for. She advocates for her patients to provide the care our Veterans deserve.
Above that, she is involved in every group project and council. She volunteers to help wherever help is needed. When she is a charge nurse, she spends all day checking on every nurse. She is willing to help the nurses and provide patient care when the unit acuity is high. A lot of why our unit gets through hard shifts and crazy days is because of Jessica. She will go above and beyond to make sure everyone—patients, family, staff—feels respected, heard, and cared for.
Jessica does a great job ensuring the unit is stocked as best as possible and that we’re prepared. She will find out any unanswered questions for clarification when we have no clue what the answer may be.
