Jessica was recognized by the family of a patient nearing the end of her life. Nurses often are relied on to give a great deal of support and comfort when families have to say goodbye to a loved one. Jessica never faltered in this role. She sat with the patient, held her hand, soothed her face and stayed by her side when the family couldn't be in the room. For the family, she explained, answered questions, and talked them through the whole end-of-life process, even staying with them throughout the entire evening. The family writes, "We are grateful that we had her compassion, sympathy, and knowledge. My sister and I will never forget Jessica and the entire staff on North 10 for helping make a difficult situation somewhat easier."
