Where can I begin to say all of the great things about Jewell? We met her when my father was transferred to the “Big House” from BJC – St Peters by ambulance. My father was in extreme pain, and needed units of blood (multiple), and an IV (needless to say). Jewell was in and out of his room at the ED for 6 hours before he was roomed. She was on top of everything. Any bedside alarm, she was on top of it. In pain – she spoke with him bedside and explained what she was giving him, the dose, and how long it would last. The pain came back a little stronger dose. It was an extremely busy day in the ED, and she was being pulled in different ways with other patients; ordering blood work and blood for my dad, and answering all our questions she still had the time to joke with my dad and make him laugh under a stressful situation. You would never have known she was at the end of her 12-hour shift. It was obvious she loves what she does, and she is GREAT at it. She was definitely a “Jewel” to us that day shining brightly! BJC is very lucky to have her as an employee.
