She devotes herself to this facility to create a better patient care experience and a better place to work.
Ms. Mosby goes above and beyond for her unit. She is the head of the Sunshine Committee for 4A. Ms. Mosby has created a board outside the ANM office that has happy thoughts for each emotion a nurse may be feeling. She has helped the morale on 4A by creating different activities for staff for each season and main holidays. She recognizes important milestones in other employees' lives and helps celebrate birthdays, baby showers, graduations, and appreciation days, just to name a few. Ms. Mosby goes above and beyond in her position by training for the NOD role to pick up extra hours to help out the facility when needed. She devotes herself to this facility to create a better patient care experience and a better place to work.

Ms. Mosby is not afraid to advocate for veterans when they cannot advocate for themselves. Ms. Mosby recently had a patient who was on morphine IV, and receiving it frequently. He was visited by someone related to his discharge planning. This person asked him to sign papers related to getting rid of his things and cleaning out his place of residence. Ms. Mosby put a stop to this as she understood this was not ethical, legal, or appropriate.

On another occasion Ms. Mosby had a patient who was grabbing at his chest, he was panicking, and he couldn’t breathe. Ms. Mosby called the physician immediately, took an EKG, performed a vital sign check, and delegated tasks of getting the crash cart and calling an RRT to the appropriate staff members. Ms. Mosby’s ability to recognize critical situations, patient condition change, and the knowledge and skill set to do what is necessary to stabilize the patient was crucial this day. This patient voiced that he felt safe and well cared for, and thankful to have Ms. Mosby as his nurse this day. Ms. Mosby’s quick action led to this patient receiving a dose of Lasix, fluids discontinued, PRN breathing treatments, and education for the patient regarding his disease process. Ms. Mosby is very great to work with. Her interpersonal skills are admirable, she is well-liked, a team player, and a great nurse to all the veterans who have the opportunity to meet her.

Nurse Jewell is a wonderful employee. Very good in her duties and in my medical care. She has a great personality and has respect for her coworkers. She follows through for me and if she did not get the answer she was looking for, she worked until she found it. She's a leader, not a follower. Very knowledgeable about her job. You feel comfortable during your stay. The floor under her watch was safe and orderly. She answers the call button immediately, always said "good morning" and made me feel safe. I hope her career blossoms, and I hope she continues her studies.
