When my mom was in pain and kept saying she wanted to go home, Jie would come in to hold her hand, talk to her and make my mom relax.
My mother was in the hospital and in this unit for twenty days and I would like to say the nurses were great here. They were very professional, and I know for sure this is because of the charge nurse, Jie. She is a great leader, a great charge nurse, person, and a wonderful human being. When my mom was in pain and kept saying she wanted to go home, Jie would come in to hold her hand, talk to her and make my mom relax. Jie is a true leader, and I can’t thank her enough.

Jie came in to check on us and just to say hi. She gave me words of strength while my entire life was upside down due to my daughter’s hospitalization. Even though we did not have her as a nurse, her kindness really helped so much during a really difficult time. She helped me find some Facebook groups for parents of trach children and provided much loving support. I am so very grateful!

Jie has been working for the county for about 15 years now. She started as a Student Nurse worker, then was hired for the Surgical ICU before she got promoted to SSN for MICU/4A. Working with Jie has been a blessing. Jie is not only caring, compassionate, and empathetic but she is also loyal, dependable, trustworthy, and a good advocate for patients as well as the staff. She consistently gives her 101% every time that she’s working. Her caring behavior and engaging personality enable her to create an amazing bond with her patients, families, and colleagues, making them feel loved and supported. She always makes sure her patients are getting the best care and have everything they need to make them comfortable.

On top of the nominations, another example that Jie has demonstrated compassionate care was when she took a trach patient who was been here for about 2 months, waiting to be transferred to a rehabilitation facility for a walk. Jie, along with the NA got this patient into a wheelchair, hooked him up to an oxygen tank, and took him down to the courtyard to finally see some sunshine and witnessed some performers dancing. This patient came back to the unit with a big smile on his face, which shows how big an impact Jie made on her. She is an exemplary nurse who leads by example and cares for the morale of the staff. She always brings food for them and always gives them encouragement especially when things get tough. She always put the best interest of the people around her first.

Congratulations Jie for this well-deserved recognition!!! You truly are an amazing person and an awesome nurse!”
