My father was admitted to the ER, and as he walked back to the room he lost consciousness. He was subsequently coded by the excellent team of Wesley ER staff which was lead by charge nurse Jill Clay. Because of their diligence and expertise, I'm proud to say I have my father today.
Jill was the calm to our storm. When I came in, my emotions were at the peak of extreme. I wanted answers, I wanted to go back and help. Jill was comforting, and she gave us the answers and updates that she could at the time, not knowing what the outcome would be. She was extremely professional, but with the utmost respect and compassion that only a nurse can possess.
Jill was the one who came in to give us the unbelievable report that my father had a pulse, after 40 minutes of resuscitation and 13 defibrillating shocks. At the time she seemed like the angel of mercy. I believe she was meant to be there that day to get us through this tough experience. We want to express our gratitude for Jill Clay and the entire team.
