Jill went out of her way to help someone in the front lobby. A lady was pushing an elderly man who said he needed to go to the bathroom. Jill saw that the lady was struggling because the wheelchair didn't have any feet rests on it, so she offered to help. The lady said she was ok. Jill could hear her struggling in the bathroom and practically crying so Jill went in and said, "Let me help you." Jill found out that the lady was the elderly man's daughter who was bringing him to an appointment from the nursing home. The daughter informed Jill that her dad had C-diff and has had it for three months. The daughter broke down crying telling Jill several things she was disappointed about at the nursing home. Jill gave her the number to the State of MO. This daughter later called VP of Nursing at Hannibal Regional Hospital to inform her about how amazing Jill was. She told her that she went above and beyond helping her dad get cleaned up, getting her gloves to wear, showing her how she should always wash her hands and why, and talking to the transport driver to ask him to tell the nursing home that they shouldn't allow a resident out of the facility without leg rests on a wheelchair. She informed her that she has never seen such kindness in someone and she couldn't have gotten through that moment without Jill stepping up to help her. Jill had worked all night and instead of walking on by and going home because she was tired, she stayed and helped with something that she wasn't even on the clock for. The daughter said Jill's actions meant the world to her!

Thank you, Jill, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
