It is impossible for me to summarize in a few words what kind of nurse Jill Frew is and to describe the dedication she has given to her chosen field of Emergency and Flight Nursing. She has been a devoted employee for over 9 years, but it is what Jill did recently that exemplified her love for helping others in their time of crisis and showed clear meaning to what being a nurse is all about. Along with working in our ED Jill also works as an RN for AIRMED. After Hurricane Harvey passed through Texas, she dropped everything, leaving her family, and her own comforts, to assist with transport of hospitalized victims to safety. She slept very little, was constantly on call for several days, was in less than optimal conditions but never once portrayed anything other than a willingness to do whatever it took to help those in need. She is a valuable resource to our Emergency Department and to the nursing profession. She comes through for her coworkers when needed and is always willing to help out. Many times, Jill has been off work and comes in at a moment's notice when our department needed her desperately due to staffing and she does so with a smile. Jill is a true DAISY Nurse.
