From a Patient: Jill was very patient, honest, and supportive not only in class but in the hospital when I was post c-section. She went above and beyond to find us before we were being discharged. We were waiting for our baby's temperature to increase to go home. She made sure we were prepared to go home and my baby would be nourished. She is great, patient and excellent at her job.

From a volunteer at the Hospital: Jill is so encouraging to new moms in breastfeeding their babies. I see new moms coming back to the hospital because they are having problems feeding their babies. Jill makes them feel they can do it. She is very postive. She is a very special person.

From a coworker: Jill is an extraordinary woman who has so much compassion, energy and humor to give her patients and her colleagues. She has made a difference to so many new and returning families. I know this as there are 24 thank you letters sent directly from the parents who delivered at Avista in the last 2 months. She also created and chaired the New Moms Support group which is a hugely popular and vital resource in the community.

These nominations all came in the same 3 month cycle for our DAISY award. Jill has been a nurse at our facility for over 20 years and has helped thousands of moms and babies to grow and flourish. She will be retiring from our facility this year and it was an honor to give her the DAISY award. All who come in contact with her see she is a true DAISY nurse.
