Jill was my L & D nurse, her gentle nature and demonstration of expertise put me at ease at once. I just told myself I can trust her and all my fears disappeared. She held my hand in such a comforting way. Now why I really think she deserves this award - the anesthetist was having a real problem getting my spinal in. I just could not get the right position. Jill helped me a lot, she just asked me to "hug her". The way she hugged me felt like how I hugged my mother, that was a moment and experience for me that cannot be described in words. Of course after that the rest was easy and I have my baby now! Jill was a perfect combination of knowledge, expertise and values and I believe she should be recognized.
