Jill is more than just a great nurse; she is a wonderful human being. She constantly reassured me that I would feel better and that the pain would subside.
My journey began when I arrived at the hospital in an ambulance, suffering from the worst back pain I have ever experienced. The pain was excruciating, rendering me unable to walk, and to make matters worse, I had left my children at home, which only added to my stress. It was a truly difficult evening for me.
After undergoing numerous radiology tests, the ER doctor decided to admit me, and a room was assigned. That's when I met the Extraordinary Nurse, Jill. Despite not knowing me, she was incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home, as if I were part of a family.
Jill's nurturing nature extends not only to her patients but also to visitors and colleagues. I witnessed firsthand her kindness and dedication as she patiently explained procedures to the training nurses. She is an exceptional mentor to these soon-to-be nurses.
The way Jill communicates with patients is truly outstanding. She takes the time to explain the medications and how they will help, exhibiting perfect bedside manners. But Jill is more than just a great nurse; she is a wonderful human being. She constantly reassured me that I would feel better and that the pain would subside.
She even inquired about my children, and when they finally visited, she prepared a special ginger ale soda with a touch of cranberry juice for them. We loved that drink, and it has now become our special "Jill-ger ale."
Although I am still in the hospital, awaiting a procedure that will allow me to go home, I am feeling much better. I have been away from my family for three nights and deeply miss my children. However, I must confess that I will miss seeing Jill come to my room every night at 7 pm, bringing with her all the love and energy that she exudes. Winchester Medical Center is truly fortunate to have such a gem of a nurse!
