September 2022 Honoree
Jill McLaughlin, RN
Almost two years ago my sister-in-law had dropped off her mother for a similar procedure. She was told to go have breakfast and they would call her when she could come back to pick up her mother. Not long after she and my brother had placed their breakfast order she was called and asked to come back immediately. Her mom had passed away due to complications with anesthesia. Needless to say, this weighed heavy on my and my daughter's mind as she dropped me off for my procedure. Everything changed when my nurse, Jill, called me from the waiting room.
My daughter remarked “Do you know her?” because she was so glad to see me, or at least it felt that way. As I said goodbye to my daughter she hugged me so tight! Jill told my daughter not to worry about anything, and that she would take good care of me! I told Jill what was on our minds and she assured me I would be fine. She made me feel so at ease by talking with me. It seemed like she was a friend and I was the only patient she had but that’s not true; I heard her with other patients with the same caring nature. Not only was she making everyone feel special and comforted, but she was also helping the other staff members when she had the opportunity. I had a good experience today and I give Jill all the credit. You’re lucky to have her!

Thank you, Jill, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
