My sister arrived at Henderson Hospital 37 ½ weeks pregnant and in distress. Her blood pressure had been elevated for hours and she had been having contractions. Her pain level was low and she was admitted overnight for monitoring and delivery.
When the day shift arrived, they walked into the middle of my sister's worst fears. Her 3 prior pregnancies include labors that lasted less than 3 hours each. But at 10 hours of labor this round with increased pain and contraction frequency, she was becoming extremely tired and worried. But with the 7 am shift, a breath of fresh air walked through the door.
Jill was an amazingly supportive nurse. She consistently listened to my sister's thoughts, comments, and concerns. She consistently went above and beyond to deliver quality care to D by reading her body language, monitoring her pain levels and even sitting with her to wipe away her tears. She advocated for D when she requested that her water be broken early. She frequently examined her vitals to confirm her labor progression which ultimately led to a successful delivery!
Her thorough nature ensured a positive outcome for both mother and baby, who are safe and healthy.
