My husband was a patient on the Trauma Care Unit. On the day that Jill was my husband’s nurse, he was scheduled for another procedure. He was not allowed to eat so it made for a long day as they didn’t come to get him until 2:30 pm. Jill was amazing with him all day, telling us stories about her life and family while doing a wonderful job. She was always cheerful and sweet when she came into our room. My husband had been gone for about two hours into his procedure and Jill stuck her head in to check and see what was going on. Jill saw that I was getting a bit freaked out because he had been gone so long. Jill came in and sat down and talked to me until she saw that I was calming down, then she went and called to check on his progress.

My husband has been through a lot the previous month and almost didn’t make it. I know if it were not for the caring and absolutely wonderfulness of Jill and folks like her, I wouldn’t have made it through. Please, please, please make sure Jill gets this award. She has been a nurse for several years and you can tell she loves her job and her patients. We have been in and out of the hospital a lot the past two years and I have come to recognize someone who loves what they do. Jill truly is fabulous at what she does.
