Our nurse leader, Jill Rollins, received five nominations for this award and consistently epitomizes all of the qualifications needed to be a nurse leader. Staff members have used these words to describe her: Jill is always available with an open door, she always listens, she is caring, she is positive, always smiling, transparent, a nurturer, a motivator, and destined as a natural for her position.
One example of many in her care and concern is that recently the ED staff was very busy and could not get to lunch; she not only called Food Services for sandwiches, she made and delivered a PB&J sandwich for a tech that is vegetarian.
And who can forget the situation years ago when we had so many young trauma victims of an MVC and she pitched right in and used her staff nurse skills….with high heels clicking!
Our DAISY has been successful in her position, and in all of the positions that she has held at BH, while putting the patient first, and this continues in leadership. Her motto is "Happy Staff=Happy Patients." She knows that this applies to all the staff at BH, since we are all working together for our patients.
