We were on shift and Jill was charge RN when she received a phone call from a patient who had been discharged, hysterical about not being able to get into her physician for a dressing change. The patient was saying that the MD would not see her to change the dressing and that she had to go to the hospital to have it changed. Jill went out of her way to call the patient's doctor and figure out a way for the patient to get her dressing changed.
During this situation, Jill exemplified the most compassionate care for this patient by dropping everything she was doing to make sure this patient was cared for. This is just one of the many situations where Jill is willing to go above and beyond for not only the patients but her co-workers as well.
