I could write an entire book on how Jill represents not only the core values of this organization but also the compassion, humor, and interpersonal skills that truly make the University of Louisville Hospital shine. Since I started as the clinical manager on 8 East, Jill has helped me in every way to make positive changes to 8 East and then help me encourage and educate the staff. If I am not available, my staff often go to Jill to ask for help in a variety of situations and tasks. Jill never hesitates to jump in and help, and she does it with a huge smile and a joyous laugh. She encourages me weekly and never fails to inspire me to do more for our patients and staff. Jill handles even our most difficult situations with the utmost expertise and provides the best patient experience no matter the patient. She goes out of her way to provide assistance and tools for patients that often have no one else to help or assist them. She is kind to all and spends time at the bedside listening to the fears and problems of many of our indigent patients, and again she does this with the biggest smile and often the loudest laugh! I do not think that I or my staff could have made it this far through the pandemic without Jill and her commitment to the profession of nursing. She truly is the definition of a DAISY Nurse and I am honored to work beside her every day!
