Congratulations to Jill Wahman, R.N., who was named Carroll Hospital Center’s February DAISY Award winner for the generosity and compassion she showed to the patients on her unit during the holidays.
Understanding that it is never easy to be in the hospital, especially during the holidays, Jill wanted to give her patients a little something extra to bring them some cheer. Using her own time and money, Jill purchased and wrapped trinket boxes to anonymously give to her patients, some of whom might not have received anything else for the holidays if weren’t for Jill's gift. The patients and their families were overheard throughout the unit commenting on how thoughtful and beautiful the gifts were.
“Jill is an outstanding nurse who consistently goes the extra mile to make sure her patients are given a feeling of warmth and caring that extends beyond their routine care. We are proud to have her as part of our team,” said Stephanie Reid, R.N., B.S.N., M.B.A., C.N.O., assistant vice president of nursing.
