Jillaine Nicks, RN

A patient came to the Emergency Department needing an extensive wound vacuum dressing change. The patient was frustrated. When the Emergency Department did not have the supplies or the experience for the procedure, the department called Medical-Surgical to request supplies and assistance. Jillaine, who previously worked in Wound Care, eagerly came to the Emergency Department. She was able to calm the patient with her kindness and skill. By the end of the procedure, the patient's entire attitude changed. They were grateful.

Jillaine stayed a half-hour past her shift to complete the procedure. She went above and beyond for this patient and the Mayo team. The Emergency Department staff are incredibly grateful for her willingness to be a team player and help out our department. Thank you, Jillaine.
