Jillian used her nursing assessment skills to identify a brewing infection, communicated to the on-call physician for proper intervention, and also poured all of her emotional and spiritual energy into making that day a therapeutic one for her patient and family who were under very difficult circumstances. Her patient told Jillian that she "felt so safe" in her care.
I wanted to acknowledge Jillian for her self-sacrificing, beyond the call of duty, excellent care for this family.
