Jillian put her training, experience, intellect, and understanding of human nature together to recognize the need for intervention.
On Friday my daughter became concerned about me as I had not been feeling well for some time; my daughter lives out of state. She attempted to contact UC by phone but was after hours; she then sent a message via computer. On Saturday morning my phone rang, it was Jillian calling to let me know they had been contacted by my daughter. Jillian began to ask me how I was and what was going on with me. I assured her that if I were to get any worse I would call 911. On Sunday, Jillian checked in to see how I was doing; Jillian asked if she could please call an ambulance for me. I was diagnosed with sepsis. I was told by several caregivers that further delay of treatment may have had a quite different outcome. Jillian put her training, experience, intellect, and understanding of human nature together to recognize the need for intervention, and I am alive to write this nomination today.
