My breastfeeding journey has caused a lot of insecurity in my worth as a mother. It has been difficult, stressful, and overwhelming. It has also been beautiful, in large part thanks to you. On one of my worst days at the height of my postpartum depression, you were kind and reassuring. During our visits with you, you cheered on our victories, imparted valuable knowledge, and gave me permission to put myself first. When I pushed myself too far, you told me that I should pump twice at night so I could sleep more and that my partner should give the little one a bottle. You also told me that all breastfeeding journeys are different, and our little one benefits from even one ounce of breast milk. That has really stuck with me. While my breastfeeding journey has not looked like how I envisioned it when I was pregnant, I am at peace with it no matter what it looks like or how long it lasts. I am proud of it. Thank you for empowering me.
